Our Vision
The vision of the Travel Health Group is: a malaria free world in 2030. This is a very high goal that drives our team and our partners. Malaria is very serious infectious disease with more than 214 million people that become ill and over 430.000 deaths per year, mainly amongst children below five years of age. We dedicate 1% of our annual turnover to malaria projects that bring our world closer to being malaria free. We support universities and individuals that work on innovations and solutions to eradicate malaria. Read more about our fight against malaria.
Malaria can be prevented, we are dedicated to this cause.
MALARIA FREE WORLD
Awareness matters. Prevention matters. And every step forward counts
On April 25th it’s World Malaria Day.
A day to highlight the need for continued investment and sustained political commitment for malaria prevention and control.
It was instituted by WHO Member States during the World Health Assembly of 2007.
At Travel Health Group (brands Care Plus®, Primmed® and Moustifluid®), we are committed to a clear vision: a world without malaria. That is why Travel Health Group has been working for almost 30 years to eradicate malaria. THG donates 1% of its turnover to the fight against malaria through the distribution of mosquito nets, education and research.
Malaria is the deadliest infectious disease in the world, with children under the age of five and pregnant women being the main victims. In 2024, malaria-carrying mosquitoes caused no fewer than 282,000,000 cases, resulting in 610,000 deaths. This must and can change!
Outreach in Uganda with Join for Joy
In November 2025, a team of five employees from Travel Health Group travelled to Uganda. Whilst there, they visited three different schools run by the Join for Joy foundation, one of THG’s partners in the fight against malaria. Join for Joy supports primary school teachers in countries such as Uganda. Teachers learn to teach through play, to create a safe and open atmosphere, and to use sport and games to raise awareness of important issues. Through this school network, we aim to ensure that children and families at school also have access to mosquito nets and receive proper information about malaria. Thanks to this collaboration, we can reach more schools and better protect local communities.
During this outreach visit, the team visited three schools in Uganda: in Ruhija, Kyasano and Rwanyana. There, the team saw how the teaching method was being put into practice: students were given information about malaria and the mosquito nets and school supplies were distributed.
Over the past year, we have continued to work towards bringing us one step closer to our goal of a malaria-free world. We look back with pride on our achievements in 2025:
- 17.100 nets distributed in Uganda through various partners
- A new partnership established with Join for Joy
- An educational programme on malaria developed for our partners
“Joining the outreach in Uganda in November 2025 left a lasting impression.
It is only when you visit communities where malaria affects families first-hand that you realise how indispensable a simple mosquito net truly is, particularly for children under five, who are the most vulnerable. Every net I handed out felt like a tangible step towards our vision: a malaria-free world.” – Laurens Felderhof, CMO THG
Grateful for the support and for what we can achieve together in the fight against malaria
We could not have achieved this without the help and support of our customers, suppliers, subcontractors, partners and distributors. Thanks in part to them, we have been able to distribute the mosquito nets and thereby protect 17.100 people against malaria.
A huge thank you on behalf of the Travel Health Group team!
